Bring on the new year – the opportunities remain the same

I haven’t been here in a while a lot has changed since I’ve written. But glad to be getting back at this.

As we approach the new year I see lots of people talking about how 2019 will be better than this year, or they will smash their goals, next year.

Let’s all remember everyday we wake up we receive the opportunity to make that day great. We choose how our day will go. It’s not about the situations that we are put through it’s how we react to those situations.

Remember something crappy might happen every day but don’t let that one thing define your day / week / month etc. we also have 24 hours in a day. Don’t let one thing define you!

Quit complaining take control of you and your life and make every opportunity count!

God Bless to all this year and next. But don’t think by a new year coming your life is going to drastically change. That’s your job!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

You want a better year / day / month? Do something different 👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️

We’ve got a big boy!!

Me. Jacob will be turning 2 on Friday! It’s hard to believe my baby boy is that old already!!

This weekend we took a risk and moved him into the toddler bed.

Night one he was not sure at all he cried and we left leaving him to calm himself down. After some time he quieted down and I started to head down stairs. I was two steps down and I heard his door open – oops! Didn’t know he could do that!!
I laid him back down started some essential oils to help calm him down and he was down for the night. Success!

Night two we laid him down and he was golden! He even laid down on his own for a nap. Monday morning we woke up to Jacob crying outside our bedroom door. So another thing to combat 🙂 he had gone all the way downstairs with his blankets and back up!

He’s done well up until last night, baby gate at the top of the stairs and all. Last night we went to check on him and found he had gotten sick all over he place. ☹️ Poor buddy – he got a bath and we did laundry in the middle of the night and laid him back down. Just to wake up about 30 min later to g getting sick again. So it was a long yet short night last night.

Hoping he feels better soon and that he continues to enjoy sleeping in his big boy bed!! ❤

Back from hiatus… carousel ride!

Hey all!!!

I know I’ve been absent for some time! Lots of happenings have caused me to be extra busy and put my writing on the back burner. And for that, I’m sorry. But I’m back!

This last summer we went to the zoo in Milwaukee and Ali LOVED the carousel.  From that point on she has asked over and over to go to the carousel again. So a few weekends ago we packed the kids up and headed to the mall about an hour away to ride the inside carousel.

We met cousin CJ there and all the kids enjoyed the carousel ride we ended the day with pizza and even found Easter outfits for the kids at 50% off!!

Here’s a few pics from our fun day!!

Apples Festival!

Crossing things of my Fall Bucket List

The family including my Mom took a trip up to Gays Mills Apple Fetival. It was a lot of fun!

The kids enjoyed apple picking and eating!

They also went through a petting zoo that let them feed goats, horses, and pigs! They also had dogs, baby kitties and a baby calf to pet.

We enjoyed the sites and came back home with tons of goodies! Juice to make apple wine, apple syrup, corn salsa, pop corn, honey, kettle corn and apples of course!

Over all the kids and us had a great day! They had their moments and fits but that happens when you miss nap time!

What fun fall things did you do this weekend! I hope you got out to enjoy the weather!

Cousin time is the best time!

These 4 are going to have so much fun growing up!

We always love getting together with my brother and his wife. The kids are so close in age they are either getting along well or fighting like brother and sisters. Similar to my cousins and I growing up.

Thanks to grandma Lou for the cozy PJ’s the kids love them!  This was he best picture I got even though it’s a little cut off on the side. They were all semi smiling! Took a lot of effort to get this picture in with out tears!  😀

We had a great evening with the family! The only one missing was Grandpa Mark. He was working hard though!

Thanks for the night of fun! Tomorrow projects around the house and Sunday football of course!

How are you spending your weekend?

Loving Fall

Who doesn’t love fall!?

I absolutely love fall and everything that comes with it! It is my favorite season!

Last year I made a post about a fall bucket list. Well this year I was on the ball and actually made one! We hope to cross off all or most of the items on this list with the kids 🙂 Plus some! Make our Halloween costumes and dress up! Enjoy time with friends and family! Sweaters, scarves, leggings and boots!! Snuggling up in a blanket with the windows open and a good book! Love fall! 🍂🍁🎃🍁🍂🎃

What are your favorite fall traditions!?

Take care and enjoy the season!

Picture day and Dance class!

Someone was beyond excited to start dance!!

This girl has been talking about dance class for over a year! She finally is old enough to be signed up!

All day she kept telling me how scared she was and if I was going to be there to hold her hand. But the second we walked in she got her shoes on and was off! I am so proud of the big girl she is growing up into! ❤️

She loved every second of it and came out of the room pouting. When I asked her what was wrong she said she didnt want to be done. Bless her heart!

On our way home Ali had to pee and I told her she was going to have to hold it. And she stressed out about 5 minutes later saying she couldn’t beacuase she was bouncing too much. Haha

So I had to pull over in the middle of no where and let her pee on the side of the road – Ali’s first squating experience 😂

Alice also had her 3 year old preschool picture day today. She was excited to smile big!

Josh has been on work travel this week and we are all glad to have daddy home! 🙌🏼

Hope your week was swell!!

Crazy busy making memories

Hey all its been sometime since I’ve posted. We’ve been pretty busy with Alice starting school, vacations to Arkansas and just keeping up in general.

If you’ve been a friend of mine for some time or a family member you know I love taking pictures and capture almost everything. I also enjoy capturing small milestones such as weekly / monthly pics of my babies and even half year pics once they are iver two.

I have several reasons behind doing this. However it all started with the thought of us only being blessed with one baby and we wanted to capture every moment in time with her. I’ve discussed in the past how we’ve struggeled with infertility and we were pleaseantly surprised when Mr.Jake came along.

So of course I have to follow suit and capture every moment in time with him too. Which I totally don’t mind 😀.

Ali 3 1/2 on the 14th

Jake 18 months on the 10th.

Hope all is well. Would love to hear how you keep and capture your family memories.

3 year old preschool!

This week Alice started 3 year old preschool. I wasn’t so sure about signing her up. I thought to myself she’ll be in school or working the rest of her life once she starts school… However I don’t want to rob her from the experience! At this age it’s tons of fun and she has the ability to meet new kids and her future classmates!

Loved her first day! The only other girl in the class is also named Alyce. She talked about her frequently! Jacob really misses his sister now on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We had our first parenting fail of the year on the second day of school – we forgot show and tell! They do this every day (she only goes 2 days a week).

So on their way there Josh told Alice she could show off her new book bag and talk about how we went to the movie ‘Secret life of pets’. I asked her on the way home if she had anything for show and tell and she just responds yeah I just showed them my dress. She’s quick on her feet!

I’m excited to see all the new things she’s learning and what’s to come in this year of preschool! She loves it already!

We sign her up for dance on Wednesday this week too! Such a big girl.

I hope everyone is having a great start to the school year and are excited to go and learn everything as much as a 3 year old on the first day 😀

Fun in Wisconsin

Hey ya’ll I suppose I should write about our extended weekend in Wisconsin 🙂

Last Friday We headed to Wisconsin for a family wedding. On our way we made a stop at the New Glarus brewery- a must in my book. We were able to do a tour, taste testing and purchase some of our favorites to bring home.

We stopped at the Outlet mall on they way and got some deals for the kiddos. Then a big group of us went to the Brewers game and had the joy of watching the Brewers beat the Cardinals! It was such a fun game with a big group of our family (only a few) we don’t do anything small in our family.

The next day was the wedding. It was such a beautiful day for a wedding! Of course it was a great time and the kids really enjoyed it as well! They stayed until the end at 11:00. My thought was – they weren’t throwing fits and they will get upset to leave so let’s all stay and enjoy ourselves! 😀

The couple was super smart and did a walking taco bar towards the end of the night. So of course some decided to make their own bowl – my family never disappoints 🙂

The next day we headed to the zoo with my brother and sister in-law and their girls. The kids loved it! Jake’s  favorite had to be the cow and Ali and Brianna loved watching the Penguins swim!

Jake’s face when he saw the cows. ❤️
The girls watching the penguin swim.

Riding the carousel with daddy.

Over all it was a fantastic weekend, wedding and trip all around!
